EVERYTHING MAKES A DIFFERENCE

WHAT IS A BEAR-MAKING EVENT?

A Bear-making event is a group gathering where each volunteer contributes a different aspect of the bears' creation.  At Bear Hugs, we aim to create a fun, engaging, and inspirational event that our volunteers enjoy.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

At a Bear-making event, you could be doing anything from cutting material, sewing, stuffing, or attaching personalized patches to the bears.  You will also participate in other engaging activities which vary depending on the event.

WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?

Our bears are suitable to be made by many ages and skill levels.  Young children are welcome to help stuff the bears and help package them, and older children as well as adults and senior citizens can participate in sewing, stuffing, and packaging the bears.  Any age and skill level is welcome to participate regardless of age or past experience!

I HAVE NEVER SEWN, CAN I STILL HELP?

Of course!  We welcome volunteers of all experience levels.  Non-sewing volunteers are able to contribute in a variety of ways.  For example, you may be stuffing and packaging the bears, or writing little notes to the children.

The length of the event depends on our goal number of bears we hope to make that day.  Events can last anywhere between an hour or two and an entire day.

Absolutely not!  You are welcome to attend as much or as little of the event as you wish.  We appreciate every volunteer, whether he or she is able to give 10 minutes or 10 hours.

DO I HAVE TO ATTEND THE EVENTS?

An integral part of Bear Hug's mission is to bring people together for a common cause and we encourage you to attend a group event.  However, if you are unable to attend for health reasons, we welcome you to make the bears on your own.  Please contact us if you wish to do this.
